Low Emission Zone
Since the 1st January 2008 a Low Emission Zone has been introduced in Cologne. Traffic restrictions apply within this zone in order to permanently improve the air quality.
How do I get a sticker?
Which sticker do I need to drive in the Low Emission Zone?
At the moment you can drive in the Low Emission Zone if you've got a red, yellow or green sticker.
Further work is being done on the "Cologne Clean Air Plan" by Cologne District Council. Additional investigations are currently being carried out for this purpose. The plan will be published by Cologne District Council. It will only be decided then if the existing measures are sufficient to comply with the air pollution limits for nitrogen oxides in future.
