Mayors and Mayoresses

Four mayoresses and mayors deputise for the Mayor Roters in the leadership of council sessions and as his representatives.

Elected in the council meeting held on 29 October 2009 were: Hans-Werner Bartsch (CDU), Elfi Scho-Antwerpes (SPD), Angela Spizig (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) and Manfred Wolf (FDP) - from left to right in the photo.


Mayoress Elfi Scho-Antwerpes (SPD)

Elfi Scho-Antwerpes has been on the council since 14 October 2004 and has been a mayoress since then. She has been the first Deputy Lord Mayor since 26 March 2009. She is district president of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband and on the steering committee of Cologne's Aidshilfe e. V. since 1988.

She is primarily involved in social, cultural and integration issues. An architect, she has 2 children and lives in Lindenthal.

Mayor Hans-Werner Bartsch (CDU)

Hans-Werner Bartsch has been a mayor and second Deputy Lord Mayor since 29 October 2009. The married father-of-two has been on the council since October 1999.

He actively supports good relations in the city districts and is president of the Förderverein Holweide e. V. A graduate engineer, he works at RWE Power in the field of pollution control.

Mayoress Angela Spizig (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen)

Angela Spizig has been a member of the council since 1999, and a mayoress since April 2000. Until then she worked in an upper school as a teacher of English, French and Literature.

She has been the third Deputy Lord Mayor since 29 October 2009. Her political focus is on culture, media and international relations. She lives in Cologne-Lindenthal.

Mayor Manfred Wolf (FDP)

Manfred Wolf was elected fourth Deputy Lord Mayor on 29 October 2009. He was a mayor from 1999 to 2004 and from March 2009 during the last council term. He can look back on his membership of the town council from 1989 to 1994 and again since 1999.

Manfred Wolf was born in 1947 in Cologne, works as a tax advisor and lives in Cologne-Dünnwald.
